Kiwah is a new currency that is specially designed to stimulate our communities to lower our CO2-emissions. Kiwah can be used by a wide variety of communities working on transition, climate and poverty projects. The Kiwah is a concrete instrument that helps us to build our communities to achieve different societal goals, and bring project income.

How to spend Kiwah?

  • Buy goods and services with Kiwah. Pay others in the online community. This includes offers in your own and other communities , but also producers of energy saving and CO2 slim products. And perhaps also your local energy company, so you can pay your energy bill;
  • Lent or donate your Kiwah to projects you like to support. You can donate or lent Kiwah to other Kiwah communities in e.g. developing countries as a form of microcredit financing.
  • Invest your excess Kiwah in renewable energy.

I agree that members of online communities should be more easily paid for their contributions, especially here where we expect innovations, projects, and solutions. Some creative and important members of this meshwork would spend more time here if they got paid for their work (just like in a virtual company). By the way, I don't know whether "donate" is an appropriate tag. I would prefer "donations".

If I understand the Kiwah flow, PuRE Streams are released by euro purchases or investments that release kilowatt hours that go into the Grid (energy can't be stored) and generates euros back. These euros serve as the actual collateral in the KiwaHU bank.  Each year, if is is an investment and not a purchase, there is an interest stream of Kiwahs.

If I have earned exces kiwahs  through giving  a lot of service in  the Kiwah economy ), I can a) use these Kiwahs to pay my energy bills. b) buy or give with my extra Kiwas to others who want to make a Low Carbon Move.. or c) re-invest Kiwahs into more PuRE sources.  d) Cash my Kiwas in (with a small exit tax..)and spend the euros on whatever I want. If what I want is part of the Kiwah mandate, I simply pay the KiwaHU with kiwahs and they purchase outside for me without a penalty.  What do I miss?

What is not clear to me is how the individual has kiwahs, how the community has Kiwahs, how KiwaHU has Kiwahs, and they can trade them back and forth as fast and long as they want...But how does it build up to more and more PuRE investment?   This can be answered next time we have a skype call and I'll write the answer in.. or if you're on discretionary time and are inspired to write the answer, we will have it as part of the Just Do It KiwahKiit..

Alexsander.

What you suggest is very important. A reciprocal value-creation framework for co-creation of significant Crossover solutions would enable individuals to be recognized for value-added, and to have a 'quota' of Kiwahs to spend by being interested in what others in the Mesh are saying. At the same time, the giving from the heart and the emergence of spontaneous co-operations are core values/processes in the Meshworks design. (see Klimaforum Invitation. )  How can Kiwah honour both roots?

We have chosen to put our product development in the CSMeshworks Open Source System and would love to develop an offer of Kiwah use that would cohere and accelerate movement towards the 2020 goals.  Ideas?
