We must change many things if we want the society to become sustainable. Can we really do it?

Think globally, act locally. How many of your friends, colleagues, neighbours and relatives are aware of your membership here? Can you recommend this meshwork to them? If not, why not (Suggest improvements.)? Be active here and make yourself visible. Write something in your content about your plans and activities. I need your network of friends interested in environmentalism (I don't have any) so I can show to people around me: "Look, it works."

It seems that something is slowly happening in the region where I live. This year is interesting because politicians, entrepreneurs and scientists discuss about more than ever before.

For example, at the International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (INDEL) in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) will be held a plenary session related to wind energy technologies (view link). It's just one example. There are more, but I am going to write about them (and perhaps contact some people) if something serious starts happening.

I have a loose network of acquaintances here that could theoretically be more active in renewable energy, sustainability, and other related fields. People exist. There is an enormous amount of people out there. Some of them are capable to do amazing things. Don't look for them only in existing political structures. Politics grows on a very unhealthy soil of populism and terrible compromises.

Do you understand the challenges of peak oil, climate change, limited resources and overpopulation? If you do, can you explain them to the people around you? There should be an equivalent of political authority, something that has other priorities than the next elections. My suggestion is to use this meshwork or something very, very similar and to create a collective entity that really cares and can do something that matters. COP16, COP17, COP18, COP19, COP20, COP21 and COP22 will fail as long as we rely solely on politics as usual and business as usual.
